London: Constable, 1928. First Edition. Hardback. Good/No Jacket. 930 8vo. In original cloth-covered boards. Fold out map at rear, diagrams (most in the run of the text) and crisply-reproduced photographs, all as called for. With three appendices and an index. Philby's final volume of his account of his time in Arabia in 1917 and 1918. "I was, I think, the very last European to sojourn in the Wahhabi Arabia before the advent of the motor-car". He offers a view of the country, and of Ibn Saud himself, some years before the coronation of Ibn Saud and the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Condition notes: Boards bumped, internally clean, crisp and sound; the map and photographs are in excellent condition. This copy misses being classed as Very Good because of staining to the rear board, and some fraying of the joint between that board and the spine. Photographs available.

HarperCollins, London, 2000. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. Inscribed by Author(s). Reprint - this copy inscribed by the author on the half-title in a rather shaky hand and dated the year of publication. 8vo. 219pp. Black boards lettered in gold at the spine. Illustrated with three maps and fifty-four photographs by the author. Paperstock a little tanned, else a fine copy in lightly rubbed and fractionally dust marked non-price-clipped dust wrapper. London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme & Brown, 1823. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. pp: [viii]ix-xii [1]2-544. FIRST EDITION. Bound in brown half-leather over marbled boards, title in gilt within a red title piece. The first edition of the author's first book. William Wilson (1772-1849) inherited a substantial sum from an uncle, and decided to indulge his passion for travel. He travelled throughout Europe and The Middle East and wrote a series of books. This was his first, and it was the most popular, going through several editions. This is a good copy as all plates, including the frontispiece, have been excised. The boards show moderate wear, heavier at the spine ends. The front hinge is cracked. The text block is mainly clean with a few marks of unknown origin.
