About This Item

Pretoria, S.A.: Sagittarius Publishers, 1958. First Edition . Wrappers. Near Fine. Octavo. The June 1958 [Vol/ 1, No.3] issue of APPROACH, Men in Life and Space, a South African Publication. From the collection of Max Miller. Octavo, 6 pp as octavo and so numbered. Minor age-toning, mailing folds, else Near Fine. Edited by South African Edgar Sievers, author of Flying Saucer Uber Sudafrika (though this newsletter is in English). Something new and different, even for the churning and seminal UFOlogy/spirituality time period of the 50s: UFO's from a South African / Tibetan Buddhism perspective. Approach was self-identified as a "non-profit, Peace and Brotherhood Programme publication", and reflects that with the ruminative and spiritual articles within, so emblematic of that mysterious fifties zeitgeist. Included: "Peace"; "The Lama's Story" ; "Psychology in the Wilderness"; and "African Region Liaison Group". A remarkable thing to hold in your hand. From the meticulously-preserved collection of noted UFOlogist Max Miller, founder of Flying Saucers International and editor of its publication, "Saucers". L103
