Bert Temple. Soft cover. Good. c. 1927. 61 p. 16 cm. Cream cloth hardcover with soiling and bend in rear board. Signature and address of former owner inside front cover. Running from 1924-1931, this humorous British charitable organization was founded by Bert Temple, ex-soldier and silk merchant, initially to raise £100 for the children's charities of the surgeon Sir Alfred Fripp. As per inside the front cover, membership in this spoof order cost 5 shillings, and entitled the members to "Blow Froth off your own beer, other members' beer, and occasionally off non-members' beer provided they are not looking or are of a peaceful disposition".
