Instances of dark and light spotted/speckled foxing to lower and upper edges of pages. First section of text has unopened pages. Of the plates, includes four color, one with its tissue-paper overlay and the opening foldout. This was considered a critical archealological study of the Bamyan area of Afghanistan, particuarly the large, ancient cave carvings of the Buddhist statues that were sadly destroyed by Taliban decree in 2001. A rough, but scarce original copy.
