Quarter brown cloth and paper covered boards with black lettering on the front cover, gilt lettering on spine, large 12mo, 260 pp., yellow endpapers, top edge of text block stained blue. With further illustrations, elucidations and wood-cuts by Booth Tarkington. No marks in book, binding solid. Minor moisture stain last half of book at top of pages, not affecting text, lacking ffep. Front hinge cracked. Covers show minor soiling, bottom corners worn. Still, a decent copy of this poorly produced work. Gilt lettering on spine readable but faded. Book condition VG-.

Garden City: Doubleday, Doran & Co, 1928. First Edition. With Kenneth Roberts’ bookplate which is signed and inscribed by the author: “For H. Kanti with best wishes, Kenneth Roberts”. Small gift inscription in pencil dated Dec. 25, 1928 on the front free endpaper. Illustrated. Very good copy with some minor foxing to the printed paper covered boards in a lightly worn price-clipped dust jacket with a hint of dust soiling and some small chips and small to medium tears. A humorous take on the antique trade.
