London: Croom Helm, 1982. 1st Edition. Black Cloth. Very Good/Good Plus. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Large. Hosking, Eric. Type: Z 160pp. A first edition copy containing three ALS by the author to the former ornithologist Dr. Geoffrey Bevan. There are two ALS's to the front paste down - one from March 1955 thanking him for information regarding the latest date fro distributing information about the Grey Squirrel and one dated 1983 explaining he had no further information on Wilfred Melluish and commiserating with Dr Bevan about his deteriorating health. The third and longest ALS is attached to the reverse of the rear end paper and dated 1954 with much information on the Grey Squirrel in Southern Herts. The book has been profusely illustrrated with colour photographic images and there is gilt embossed lettering to the spine. Light bumps to the head and tail of the spine with light creasing to the overlying wrapper. There is light shelf wear to the wrapper. A very good copy in a good wrapper.
