About This Item

London : Simon & Schuster Ltd, 1992 After the death of Prince Albert, Queen Victoria marries Count Dracula. Since the Royal Family sets the standards for high society it becomes de rigueur for the upper classes to follow suit and become nosferatu themselves. An amazing book that is equally effective as a horror novel, a mystery novel or a social satire. The author's signature is on a bookplate that is affixed to the title page. First printing (complete number line). Not price-clipped, no remainder mark, not bumped. Pages are slightly yellowed, which is common with British editions. Comes in a mylar protective cover. All books are bubble-wrapped and placed in a sturdy shipping box when mailed. Tracking number supplied on domestic orders.

Synopsis

Anno Dracula is a 1992 novel by British writer Kim Newman, the first in the Anno Dracula series. It is an alternate history using 19th century English historical settings and personalities, along with characters from popular fiction. The interplay between humans who have chosen to "turn" into vampires and those who are "warm" (humans) is the backdrop for the plot which tracks Jack the Ripper's politically charged destruction of vampire prostitutes.
