New York: Crosby Gaige, 1928. Signed Limited First Edition. Near Fine. Signed limited first edition. Copy 525 of a limited 800 numbered copies, signed by James Joyce. Bound in publisher's brown cloth stamped in gilt with boards decorated in blind. Near Fine with faint rubbing to cloth at spine ends, faint stains to covers and a ding to the edge of the upper board. Pages toned. The first separate publication of this fragment work-in-progress that would become Finnegans Wake, signed by James Joyce.

Synopsis

Finnegans Wake is a work of comic fiction by Irish author James Joyce, significant for an experimental style and its resulting reputation as one of the most difficult works of fiction in the English language. Written in Paris over a period of 17 years, and published in 1939, two years before the author's death, Finnegans Wake was Joyce's final work.
