Illustrator: Photographic. acknowledgement, guide to pronunciation, sources consulted, index and illustration placement. Map illustrated endpapers showing the Pacific region. Between pages 434 and 435 there are 32 pages of sepia toned photographs / illustrations. 1/4 chocolate brown coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles. 3/4 tan coloured textured boards. Illustrated dustwrapper with white and black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Black-and-white photograph of author to the rear panel. A history of white involvement in the Pacific Region, encompassing all the various island archipelagos. It is also the author's travel to the various regions. Softening to the back strip edges with a little bumping of the book corners and rubbing to the lower book edges. Browning of the text block edges with some staining, particularly to the lower edge. Age toning of the pages. Dustwrapper is showing age and wear. Chipping, with loss, to the front dustwrapper corners and to the back strip corners. Creasing and some small tears to the top dustwrapper edge with creasing of the lower edge. There are some horizontal creases to the front and insect nibbles are also present to that area. Marks, rubs and stains to the verso. The dustwrapper has become a little "loose". Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [15], 2 - 542, [2] pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
