Binding is worn and damaged with losses to blank areas of spine and split at back. Front hinge broken. Book block sewn tight and secure. Early ownership mark on front free end paper, which has been deleted with early ink marks. All pages are tight and bright with light age tone to edges. Plate 6 of Mammalia split at fold line without loss. 4 early manuscript corrections to text, by a knowledgeable editorial hand to one word on pages 8, 78, 88 of Mammalia, and the Supplementary Plate to the Mammalia. In need of attention to binding, this is a scarce volume of three first editions of notable natural history records.
