VG- (Both volumes have average age and soiling to cover, handwriting at top of front cover of 1939 book; page margins are tanning; text and illus. are good and clear.). 2 vols. Tan paper wraps, 129 total pp., BW illus. We've made this a two-volume set, since these auctions were held just two months apart and featured Oriental and Transcaspian Rugs from the collection of Charles Calmer Hart (1878-1956), who served as a U.S. diplomat in present-day Albania and Iran during the 1920s and 1930s. The first auction consisted of 418 lots, and #378-418 were rugs. The second auction consisted of 399 lots, and #368-393 were rugs. Includes some BW illustrations of the rugs, as well as some of the furniture and other pieces being sold these days.
