New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1931. First Edition Charles Scribner's Sons; New York; 1931 "A" 8vo size tan clothbound hardcover with blue title and decorations and dust jacket; 314 toned pages. The back of the dust jacket features a small photograph of the author and his biography. From jacket flap: "His stories concern love in the springtime, courting, jealousy, an accident, a lynching, old age, a death. Some of them are very short, yet the reader finds within their brevity all the flavor and mood of some American incident which, in Caldwell's hands, becomes a story - interesting, individual, authentic." Price sticker on fep. Jacket is separated into two pieces on front spine seam with edgewear and chipping, particularly to head and heel and edges; small abrasion on fep from sticker.
