About This Item

Minneapolis: Coffee House Press, 1985. First edition. Paperback. Fine/issued without dj. 8vo, 125 pages, pictorial stiff wrappers

This collection of short stories was dedicated to and an homage toward Richard Brautigan, and includes a letter Kinsella wrote to Brautigan in 1980. "Many of the short, surrreal pieces in this book owe a debt to Richard Brautigan. I publicly call these vignettes Brautigans ... Introduction". Additionally, this work is illustrated with cuts by Gaylord Schanilec. "Schanilec has set the standard for contemporary artist's books over the last 30 years. His highly collected and unique fine press books explore his interests and experiences as well as his hometown landscape and community. One illustration here is for the short story, "Books by the Pound".

About Thomas J. Joyce And Company

Joyce And Company has been in business as a professional rare bookseller and appraiser since 1975. Owner Thomas Joyce was the regular book appraiser on Home & Garden TV\'s \"The Appraisal Fair\\\" program, on international broadcasts. Thomas Joyce was the co-discoverer of George Washington's personal copy of William Leybourn's 1679 edition of THE COMPLEAT SURVEYOR, from which young Washington learned some of his surveying skills at age 16. The book had vanished for nearly a century until its re-discovery in 2017. It is now back at Mt. Vernon.
