New Jersey, California, 1915. Softcover. Very Good. Oblong quarto measuring 12" x 10". Textured black cloth over flexible paper boards. Contains 121 black and white or sepia toned gelatin silver photographs measuring between 2" x 3.5" and 6" x 10" with some captions. Very good photo album with rubbing and edgewear with near fine photographs. A photo album compiled by Mr. and Mrs. James Mason of East Orange, New Jersey while on a cross country road trip to California beginning in May of 1915. A small clipping from a newspaper reads, "Mr. and Ms. James Mason, East Orange, New Jersey will leave their family on May 3, 1915 on a motor trip to the West on the Overland Trail. They will be away a year and make their temporary home in Mill Valley, California." A small description of the start of their trip is typed and affixed to the first page. "At 4:30 p.m. on May 3, 1915, bidding goodbye to our numerous kind friends, we left East Orange, N.J. for California." It continues, "our total load was about 4600…
