Previous owner's 1901 Christmas inscription, tiny bit of offsetting to the title page, some pages carelessly opened and others unopened. An exceedingly FINE COPY in original publisher's cream-colored paper-covered boards, t. e. g., with gilt titles and stamped vignette of Alice on front board. In an exceedingly FINE ORIGINAL DUST JACKET, virtually faultless. In a complete intact ORIGINAL GIFT BOX (the first example of this gift box we've ever seen). There is a patch of staining at one corner and some nicks and rubs -- otherwise the box is in excellent condition. The best surviving example of this landmark "Alice" known to us and it surely would be a centerpiece for any superb collection of famed Alice illustrators.. First Edition. Decorative Cloth.
