About This Item

Edinburgh, London & Dublin., c.1862. A detailed map of Algeria with two round inset maps of Oran and environs and Constantine and environs in the bottom corners as well as an inset map of Algiers and environs in-between them. Fullarton's Royal Illustrated Atlas of Modern Geography was the last highly decorative atlas published in England, and the maps are much sought after. Even the maps without views or figures are beautifully engraved and coloured with a mixture of printed colour and hand colour. Steel engraving. Hand coloured. Very good condition; some slight browning to the upper centre fold. Size: 51.5 x 41.5 cm. (20½ x 16½ inches)
