No date, circa 1850.. Circa 1850, oblong red silk album still with original ties, approximately 360 x 250 mm, 14 x10 inches, 12 paintings of Chinese punishments with blue cloth borders and soft paper backing, 3 paintings have small damage to top inner corner and 1 to lower outer corner, not affecting images, 1 painting with a man holding a lantern has a closed split affecting image, running into his clothes, 60 mm (3 inches), cloth borders of some pictures creased, some corners creased, not affecting images, paintings slightly slipped from the cloth borders, binding has wear to spine with loss of silk, some small chips to covers touched up with matching colour, wear to edges of covers also touched up, silk lifting from boards, slight stain to lower cover, a few of the paper backing sheets have a few small repairs to edges and a few tiny chips, otherwise a good copy.
