Oxford: at the Clarendon Press, 1917. xvi, 504p., numerous illustrations and maps, the maps folded and bound in, all are present and in good shape, first edition in brown cloth boards gilt panelled in blind. A handled volume with card exposed at corner-tips, a slight dimming of the spine title, cracked front hinge (holding well), bright-white endsheets with little touches of soil, a shapely textblock free of any markings but unobtrusive bumps to upper corners. A good, still-handsome copy.
