About This Item

FINE BOOK & Wrapper. Almost as new.
1991. First edition quarto, 160 pages illustrated with black & white photographs and detailed line drawings. Fine grey cloth hard back with a near fine unclipped dust jacket. No inscriptions or marks. "The distinguished career of the carrier Victorious extended from World War II to 1967. A major refit during the 1950's, saw her emerge as the Royal Navy's most advanced carrier in the world. The author's drawings show all the changes which she underwent during her long career, while the text focuses especially on her war service which included a number of daring airstrikes, most notably against the German battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz. Later she sailed for the Far East where she was part of the British Pacific Fleet; there she withstood several kamikaze attacks.

About greaves-leaves

I am an independent retired individual who has specific interests in History, particularly local History and relevant scarce books. Many of the books for sale are from the collection I have built over the years. I do not operate as a business and spend a few hours a week on my hobby. However being retired I am usually available to service orders promptly and personally.
