About This Item
New York: Grosset & Dunlap Publishers, 1943. Copyright 1943 by Warner Bros Pictures Inc. Novelization by John O Watson from the screen play by Dudley Nichols. "Air Force" was born of a meeting between Jack L. Warner, and General H.H. Arnold, Chief of the United States Army Air Force. Out of this meeting grew the story of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, the" Mary Ann" and her heroic crew. This is the story of the breathtaking adventures of the "Mary Ann" from the time it leaves Mather Field, San Francisco on Dec 6th 1941, to its arrival in Australia. It covers the attack at Pearl Harbor, the suffering and heroism on Wake Island, the smashing of Japanese convoys on the Coral Seas, unbelivable air attacks, and the valor of patriotic men. Frontispiece on semi-gloss stock; a photo of the "Mary Ann" Bomber. The Dust jacket shows scenes from the movie. Leaves are toned as would be expected on paper used during wartime conditions. This book is complete and unabridged.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Fair.
