Illustrated by Caldwell's wife Virginia. On half-title page in pink handwriting: "To Joanne and Lewis Dunn in friendship," then signed "Erskine Caldwell," in blue felt-tip pen, then in blue ink "...and me, too! Virginia Caldwell." On adjacent page in same pink handwriting on small card glued to page: "Merry Christmas (early) to Joanne and Lewis. XXX. Ginny and Erskine." DJ beneath mylar, colorful illustration of window frame with two scenes: a farmstead and house in birches on front and back. DJ and book, both Very Fine.
