A history of Texas from the Battle of San Jacinto until the failure and capture of the Texan Sante Fe expedition. It is a story of raids and counter-raids and the seemingly endless disputes between Texas and Mexico centered on the borderlands between the Nueces and the Rio Grande. Although neither Texas nor Mexico had the money and organization to launch a full war, the years 1836-1841 saw many small conflicts and skirmishes.
