Collation: (x) 451, (1 blank) 32 (Publisher's catalog) pp, portrait frontispiece and 47 illustrations, folding map and 6 color tinted lithograph plates. There is gilt title, author and publisher with vignette design on spine. Front cover had reproduction of plate, "Narrow Escape" in gilt. Wear to ends of spine and corners. Uncut copy with some foxing, mainly to edges. One lithograph plate with repaired tear from fore edge just into image.
