About This Item

New York: American Committee on Africa, 1955. 20p., 8.5x11 inches, original stapled wraps, address label and rubberstamp on cover, otherwise very good. Numbering is peculiar, as vol. II no. 5 is dated later in 1955. Updates on anti-colonial activism and political developments, including a three-page profile of Julius Nyerere and a report of a self-declared prophet in Uganda who climbed a tree and proclaimed himself to be an incarnation of the Buganda war god, stirring a crowd to fight against whites and demanded the return of an exiled tribal leader.
