Publisher's bluish-green cloth binding with gilt letting on the spine and titling stamped into the cloth on the front cover. xv + 433 pages, including Glossary, eight Appendices, and Index, followed by the publisher's separately paginated 64-page Catalogue of Technical and Scientific Books dated 1916, which includes its own Index of Titles. Heavily illustrated with drawings, diagrams and photographs throughout, including frontispiece illustration. Large fold-out illustration, the Phugoid Chart, between pages 60 and 61. Large, heavy book measuring 8 7/8" x 5 7/8" x 1 5/8" and weighing nearly 3 pounds. VERY GOOD + condition. Light wear to the spine ends and corner tips. Corner tips curled inward slightly but not bumped. Only a slight touch of sunning to the spine with gilt remaining very bright and unworn. Otherwise bright and very clean with very little wear. Tightly bound, straight and square, with strong, sound hinges and joints with no cracking. Excellent interior with bright, clean, unmarked, practically flawless pages. The fold-out chart is completely intact, in perfect condition and still tipped in. Small antique previous owner ex libris bookplate on front pastedown with the same owner's signature and address written in ink at the top edge. Tan shadow on rear enpaper from a previous insert..

[Philadelphia]: Commercial Museum, 1919. Unbound. Near Fine. Approximately 15.5" x 11.5". Just about fine. Professionally mounted on linen. Signed in the plate by H.T. Cubberley, about whom we can find no additional information. Original poster for an exhibition of naval aircraft at Philadelphia's Commercial Museum in 1919. Various aircraft are depicted in flight. Possibly done in-house for the museum, we have only seen or heard of one other example (on blue paper), and presume it to be rare.

My listing INCLUDES PHOTO OF ACTUAL BOOK for sale. Book FINE/ Covers NEAR FINE. NEVER OPENED. Covers are light blue, lettering black, Dept. of the Navy Air Systems Command logo on front. Spine is sunned so that the light blue is now grey but the black text of title is clear, spine has a few minor wrinkles, perhaps from age acting on the glue. The front and back covers are flat, clean, bright, no rips, very slightly bent corners, no spine creases, a bit of sunning around all edges. Spine is slightly rounded instead of sharply right angled.
