Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: The Pittsburgh Courier, 1948. [African-Americana][Journalism] 11" x 7¼". Thick card stock, printed one side. Very good: bright with toning at extremities and light soiling along the left edge. Considering its intended use and the fact that the Courier cost 12 cents for only 21 months (from September 1946 to May 1948) we'd like to say this is rare, but we'd be lying: we have around 20 more just like it. Still, a visually pleasing and displayable artifact from one of the most important and influential African American newspapers of its day.
