The Adventures of a Nature Guide by Mills, Enos A - 1920

Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1920. 271 pages. Signed and dated, Sept. 4 - 1922, on the recto of the front free end leaf. This was less than three weeks before his death on September 21, of 1922. There is a post card affixed to the verso of the front free end leaf showing a small rider on a horse standing in front of mountains that are believed to be Longs Peak. A non-author inscription on the front paste down reads "Given to Lee Sheppeard in / 1948 in appreciation for / his services at the funeral / of Mrs. F. V. Gay [Clay Center, Kansas]." A newspaper obituary of Mills has been taped to the rear free end leaf. Cloth covers show a little rubbing at spine ends and corners, and there are a couple of scuffs seen on covers. Lettering on spine covers is a little faded and there is a small tear in the cloth a little more than half way down. The top hinge (internal) is broke though still loosely holding. There is some separation between the front free end leaf and the half title page. There is just a little other general light wear. . Signed By the Author. First Edition. Cloth - Hard Cover.
