Illustrated with black and white plates in both volumes. Minor age toning on endpapes. Both volumes clean and tight, no markings. Mr. Butler was the president of Columbia University, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, as well as a Membre de l'Institut de France. A very nice set.
