St. Augustine, FL: Absolut Vodka (Manufacturer) /Absolute Americana Art Gallery, 1980. First Edition. First Printing.. Hardcover. Fine/No Dust Jacket, As Issued.. St. Augustine, FL: Absolut Vodka (Manufacturer) /Absolute Americana Art Gallery, 1980. Hardcover. Fine/None, As Issued. First Edition/First Printing. 1 pages. Rare Ed Ruscha and Absolut advertising collectible set. A pristine copy of the "Absolut Ruscha" original vintage lithograph/print, signed, dated, and framed by Ed Ruscha. Comes with the most comprehensive collection of Absolut's ground-breaking advertising throughout the campaign's history. "Absolut Ruscha" is an original artwork-rendition of the "Absolut Ruscha" print advertisement and should not be confused with the latter. It was specially produced in a small and limited edition of 200 copies. It is now rare. A brilliant production by Ed Ruscha: Giant-sized offset lithograph. The piece measures 33 X 45 inches. Custom-framed in museum-quality, UV-protectant glass, and austerely elegant black wood. Framed size is slightly larger. Printed on pristine-white, thick uncoated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Presents Ed Ruscha's "Absolut Ruscha". One of the most brilliant creations in Absolut Vodka's advertising campaign. Sly and sinister in its simplicity: The artist has adapted his "Wolf" painting, altering it just so as the shadow of the tilted Absolut bottle. It comes with the most complete collection of Absolut advertisements throughout the campaign's long run, all of them in fine to pristine condition, collected over the years by one avid collector. Individual copies of the advertisements are erratically available online. Collecting them one-by-one is not so much costly and time-consuming as potentially a fool's errand because the advertisements appeared exactly once. Individually and collectively, the Absolut Vodka advertisement is inspired by the shape of the bottle itself and how its angularity reflects the best that contemporary culture has to offer. Absolut is the one brand that has fascinated, engaged, and involved nearly every major Western writer, artist, photographer, composer, pop-culture trendsetter, and public icon of the last quarter of the 20th century. Absolut pays homage to the achievement of Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Maurizio Cattelan, and Ken Scharf as well as Philip Glass, Susan Sontag, Philip Johnson, and the creators of "South Park", to name a handful from among literally thousands of contributors who have participated in the campaign over the years, most of whom would not otherwsie consider appearing in a commercial. As such, no other advertising campaign has consistently aspired to the level of art while becoming the third biggest liquor brand in the world. An Absolut "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, item for Ed Ruscha collectors. <b><I> This original lithograph is very prominently and beautifully signed and dated (in the year of publication) in pencil on recto by the artist: "Ed Ruscha 1980". It comes with the Certificate of Authenticity. This item is a contemporary art classic. As far as we know, this is the only such signed, publication-year dated, and framed copy of the Limited-Edition Lithograph available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. It comes with the most complete collection of Absolut advertisements, all of them in fine-to-pristine condition. Please note: ALL of the Absolut Vodka advertisements appeared exactly once. Most of them are now rare. This collection gathers them as one set. A rare signed copy thus. </b></i> One of the greatest artists of our time. A fine collectible set.
