[36], 319 [5], 384 [6 publisher's advertisements] pp. Original brown leather covers with plain tooling to edges and centers of upper and lower, blind rolls and four bands to spine. Upper joint showing some threads, but holding. Corners bumped, head/tail of spine showing thread. Free endpaper loose. Book I: Abridgment. Frontispiece with 4 engravings (PO ? to verso) facing title page with 8 portraits following Preface and Contents and start of Abridgment. Book II: Of the Life and Reign of King Edward the VI. Two page frontispiece with 8 engravings (Henry VIII, Edward VI, Cromwell, Wolsey & others), rest of text block tight and unmarked. OCLC 715150803.

Octavo, [32], 319, [1]; 386 pages; G-; Bound in full brown leather. Some cracking at spine; rubbing to edges and corners of binding, generalized rubbing to boards. Engraved title page is a modern facsimile; original now lacking. Some wear to text block, including chipping to edges of some pages. Small scattered stains.Open tear to lower right corner of p. 243 (text not impacted). Damp staining on p. 283-378. The first leaf is blank. Lacking other plates and the three final advertisement leaves. "Book II. Of the life and reign of King Edward the VI" (caption title) has separate pagination and register. JR Consignment.
