Association Copy 4.86" x 17.25", pp. vi, 1-112. This is a revised edition of the prize poem, "Abraham Lincoln," published in "The New York Herald", December 15, 1895. Gift inscription on ffep, "To / Clara Irwin Henderson / with the love of / her sister / Myra Irwin Allen /July thirty first 1896". Myra was the wife of the author Rev. Lyman Allen. Clean, tight, well-kept copy, some foxing on pp. 38-40. 1" scratch on cover, bumping at the corners and rubbing at the top and bottom of spine, but all-in-all an excellent historical copy. "The hour was come, and with rose the man<br /> Ordained of God and fashioned for the hour;<br /> The savior of a race;<br /> For who wrought ever, since the world began,<br /> The subtle energies of thought and power<br /> In lineal lines of grace." (p.69).
