Information-Education Section, MTOUSA, 1945. First edition. Original paperback. Very good. Small duodecimo (smaller than standard). Slight wear at corners and edges of covers. Staples a bit rusty. 96 pages with many b&w photo illus, maps, drawings. A very scarce history of the African American 92nd Division, the only such division sent to fight in the war. The Buffalo Soldiers fought along the Ligurian coast in the west of Italy, eventually taking Genoa. The book includes discussions of the 365th, 370th, and 371st regiments when they were detached from the division. The illustrator, Shearer, went on to create the African American comic strip QUINCY.
