1904. Very good condition. An archive of b&w printed photographic postcards of India, postally unused and captioned in English, of some of the loveliest and well known locations in the country.
The postcards include views of fine monuments, architecture and scenes of daily life, in Agra, Benares, Delhi, Jaipur (Jeypore), Bombay, and Calcutta. Scenes of daily life include the bazar at Delhi, Nautch, Girl dancing like Peacock, Bhendy Bazar, Malabar Hill fishermen, cotton dealings, Mohammedan Dancing Girl, Tramway junction in Calcutta, shipping on the River Hughly, and the arrival of the Czarevitch at Calcutta.
Publishers include Clifton & Co., Bombay; The Phototype Co., Bombay; Raina & Co.; and S. D. M. Some postcards with full backs, some divided backs. Postally unused, bright and clean.
