Hardback: dj is slightly worn on spine tips and corners, lightly foxed on reverse, price uncut, covers are slightly faded on the edges and edges a bit bumped, name on flyleaf, some foxing on endpapers and foredges, back flyleaf is lightly damp stained on the front edge, still vg. 8vo, 104pp. Jim, an apprentice shipbuilder in Liverpool, learns by accident that the '290' he has been working on, is to be christened the Alabama and is destined for the Confederate Navy. He decides to ship aboard on what was to become one of the most famous vessels of the American Civil War.
