The story follows that of naval officer Jack Aubrey and naturalist, physician, and spy Stephen Maturin, and in particular, Aubrey's ascent from lieutenant to rear admiral in the Royal Navy. Set during the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. With the original unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally lovely with only minor shelf wear, the spine slightly cocked forward. The dust wrapper is unclipped and excellent with only minor shelf wear, bookseller sticker to the front wrap.
