Harpers Weekly, 1864. soft. Very Good. Rebel Deserters Coming Within the Union Lines Original Woodcut Engraving from July 16 1864 Harper's Weekly page 460/461.
11 tall X 15.5 wide, with margins.
This genuine antique Civil War Engraving is very displayable and ready for framing and is guaranteed to be as described. The lines you may see these older engraving/prints are from the adjoining of woodblocks to make/produce the complete image. In order to speed up the process of wood-cut engravings, several artists carved a section of the block of wood then the blocks were adjoined, stamped in ink then onto this page. Also occasional spots or foxing are usual for these engravings that are over 160 years old.
