William Butler Yeats (1865 – 1939)

Yeats was one of the foremost figures of 20th-century literature.

He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature 1923. The Irish poet is considered to be from the Symbolist movement, due to his use of imagery and symbolism. He wove ancient Irish lore into his work from a young age on.
