Pink endpapers. Autobiography- the author grew up in Middleton near Manchester. Fair overall: covers rather dulled and rubbed, with spine edge splits and bumped corners. Binding sound. Many pages have brown marks, blotching or spots to margins, occasionally to text, though this is always legible. Two have scotch tape to centres. Endpapers clean.

Light fading to cloth on spine (darker mark where small label has been removed) and back, faint stain to front cover; a few spots to margins, but endpapers heavily foxed and browned; second blank flyleaf appears to have been detached. Jacket front and back bright, spine browned, edges have losses and creases which have been neatly backed with red paper so that they are much less visible; largest loss is top spine -first word lost and most of second.

In red cloth covered slip box. 626pp text volume & unpaginated plates volume. Forms a catalogue raisoneé of the NPG's early Victorian portraits. Volume I has coloured plates tipped in, volume 2 has 1047 b&w reproductions, and both have coloured plate frontispieces. A monumental work. Clean covers and pages clean, would be Very Good but for splits to front hinges of both volumes, probably due to weight of volumes; binding is sound however. Light wear to jacket edges. Slip box has splits to spine ends with cloth fraying. A Good+ set. Heavy so extra postage will be required.

Bedford, Bedfordshire Standard, 1920. HB , Green cloth covers, 27pp. A well researched work covering nearly 50 of the the principle earthworks in Bedfordshire. Fully illustrated with photographs and plans. Book has had some use with staining to rear boards and rubbing to corners. Ffront hinge weak, rear hinge broken but with covers still attached, foxing to preliminary pages, some annotations. Each location is accompanied by a plan and sketch of the location. The last five plates have staining to aprox one third of the plate, otherwise contents good. Binding poor, a working copy.

A Very Good+ set in Very Good dust jackets. A heavy set so additional postage will be required.
