Paperback: white card wrappers, stapled, with pale blue paper dustjacket, lettered in black. 38pp. Thirty-one poems, some of which had appeared in magazines or on the radio. Some have a theme of hill farming and rural life in Wales. Pages and wrappers clean with some light tanning, pencil name to flyleaf; staples have some rust (no real staining). Blue jacket has tanning to margins and some small light marks, rubbed edges wirh small tear top. A Good+ copy.

With 46 texts by various writers and poets including Edward Thomas, the editor, John Betjeman, PJ. Kavanagh, Michael Horovitz, Peter Porter & Brian Patten. A Very Good+ copy.

Fine in Fine protected jacket.

London: Methuen, 1905 First edition. Small, slim HB. Blue cloth, gilt title to spine and front, with dark blue border lines, no dustjacket. 57pp. Gilt top edge, hand cut fore edges. Nicely produced slim volume of poems, influenced by Classics. Very Good : covers clean, gilt bright, scratch to back, rubbed edges, light fraying to lower spine end; pages clean with light foxing spots to ends and front edge; browning to title from press cutting enclosed; name and date to flyleaf.

London: John Baker, 1964 New edition, reset, the first thus. With prefatory note by M.S. HB. Red cloth, lettered in silver to spine and with silver publisher's motif to front, and the dustjacket on grey paper with black lettering and red decorative border.. Top page edges red. 37pp. The timing of this edition, as noted on the jacket, was related to contemporary debates about capital punishment. A nicely produced little book in Fine condition, in a Very Good jacket, which has some spots and light stain marks to front,. Photos available.

Orange cloth with gilt titles, and dustjacket in yellow and maroon reproducing line drawings by Munnings. 176pp. Yellow top edges. With many b&w reproductions of sketches by Munnings in plates and text, including full text and drawings for A Tale of a Certain Man and His Pigs. Good in Very Good jacket, now in clear sleeve. Clean covers and pages, apart from 2 pages which have biro scribble: over text but readability unaffected. Owner's name to flyleaf. Jacket has rubbed edges with very small losses, slight fade to spine colour.

An anthology based on Part IV of the Bannatyne MS (1568), bringing together some of the best lyrics of courtly love written by Scottish poets and musicians during the course of the 15th and early 16th centuries. HB, lxxix, 147pp. A VG+ copy with like DJ.

Red soft leather with gilt title and elaborate decorations to spine, and gilt elephant motif to front, not usually seen in this bright condition or with the dustjacket printed in red on cream paper (this also has the elephant head motif). Top page edges gilt. xvi, 208pp. With red linen page mark. Decorative title page with line drawing opposite. Poems. Nice edition ,not often seen in the jacket but in Fair to Good only condition. Very Good book in Fair jacket. Clean and bright covers, with very light foxing to closed page edges and some inside in places; two pages have ink marks ; the jacket has browning to spine and edges and large loss to top spine and front top, partly over title; other small losses to edges, and handling marks. Front flap intact with list of Kipling's works. Note other Methuen Kipling titles in same format available from this seller.

With 17 line drawings in plates by Arthur Coombes, and 8 by the author. A long poem on the author's bees, the months and seasons in nature. Decorative colour block printed endpapers. Published and printed by the author's private press. Good condition. Clean covers with slight faded cloth to front. Clean pages, would be very good except that six page corners have been cut near front (text unaffected). Name to half-title.

Very Good: covers have light rubbing to edges, some lightly rubbed patches to back, and spine label. Pages clean with tanned edges, occasional light spotting to margins. Gift inscription to flyleaf.

Full leather binding, black and gilt inset title label to spine, gilt banding. Light rubbing to corners, heavier rub with loss of leather to top rear spine fold (4cm) and to top rear edge, 3cm. Some darkening to edges. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. One or two pencilled marginalia. A Very Good copy, good tight binding.

Poems about creatures of the countryside, some with an underlying religious theme. Nicely designed and printed book, as usual with Hart-Davis. Fine in Very Good protected jacket. Clean cover, pages and jacket, which is price-clipped.

Slipcase is heavily marked with 2cm tears along bottom edges. Book is near Fine (tiny spot to bottom edge) in Very Good jacket and Fair slipcase.
