Elliot Stock, 1895. Hardcover. Good. No Jacket. Elliot Stock, 1895. Rare first edition. Hardback(gilt lettering to the spine) with blue and red cloth. Book is in very good condition, for its age, with a few nicks and marks on the cover and spine. The insides of the front and back cover have slightly come away from the first and last pages. Nice and clean pages, although tainted due to age with a few marks. Some of the pages have not been separated at the top page edge. The book it contains the story (Volume II) of the writer's forty years' continuous civil service in Her Majesty's Dockyards at Sheerness and Chatham, first as a Clerk, and afterwards as a Principal Officer, in the several departments of Cash, Naval Stores and Accounts. The book also includes an index to the first volume of the "Reminiscences" at the end of this volume for the convenience of those readers who wish to refer to it. The writer, R G Hobbes is a retired Officer of H.M. 's Civil Service. He is also a fellow of the Imperial Institute, Member of the British Association, Royal Institution of Great Britain, Society of Arts, National Indian Association, and Library Association of the United Kingdom, Associate of the Victoria Institute, etc.594pp including Appendix I-III, index to vol II and index to vol I.
