First edition hardback, VG- with soft head and bump at heel, some slight general wear to boards, and the faint trace of what appears to be a beverage ring to the front boards themselves, otherwise sound but, alas, lacking the dj. Normally I wouldn't carry a jacket-less book like this, but it's one of the rarest of Wellman's YA historical novels, following the adventures (based very loosely on a few snippets of historical fact) of an Englishmen and an Irishman left behind from Columbus' expedition to the new world. Recommended.

The book, in black boards with orange lettering on the front boards and spine, has tape marks on the boards, a library pocket on the title page, the body of the book is separating from the boards, and condition is poor. The jacket is not price-clipped, has been quite well protected by the now-removed jacket protector, has wear to the top and bottom edges (the protector was snug), a library sticker is still affixed to the spine, and is VG to VG+.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Poor/Very Good to Very Good+. Illus. by Leonard Everett-Fisher (dust jacket and interiors).
