New York: Macmillan Company, 1938 As a youth, "I passed a construction train. I noticed one of the crew... attempt to cross to another car. As I watched I saw him fall between the cars. His body bounced around under the wheels of the cars as he was cut to bits." So begins the railroad biography of Henry Clay French, the author's father. Tiny spots of light foxing along the upper edge of the text block, else near fine in very good price-clipped dust jacket with some chipping, tiny tears, and associated creasing.. First edition, first printing. Hardcover.
