Frontispiece illustrated on 2 pages with lovely color plates (Lincoln Cathedral and Salisbury Cathedral) and tissue in between. Volume II, 296 pages. Frontispiece color plate (Ely Cathedral) and tissue facing. Both volumes: illustrated with steel engravings by Winkles and many wood engravings thus illustrating all the Cathedrals from many points of view. Volume I, some pages loose, worn at spine. In both volumes pages yellowed at edges, otherwise pages and plates good condition. Bottom edges soiled on both volumes, Volume II bottom edges lighlty water stained at spine. Green endpapers are worn, chipped. Previous owner's book plates on ffeps. Both are red cloth with beautiful gilt and black cathedral illustration on upper covers and spines. Nice covers. Spines show wear. Lower boards scratched, few stains. Edges and corners worn/bumped.. GOOD. Hard Cover. Good.
