Katherine Anne Porter's expanded collection of short stories, Flowering Judas, features ten narratives about people struggling to survive in a world of conflict. Issued without a dust jacket, this edition has tan cloth covered boards with black title and author detail on the front cover and spine. Lightly toned around the edges, the book has a faded/discolored spine with a noticeable soil mark just above the tail cap, and other very small soil spots on the top half of the spine, front cover edge and two on the back cover as well. Interior pages show very minor signs of age, but are clean with sharp corners. This association copy is in very good shape, with a personal inscription by the author on the first end paper dated 1948. This copy comes from the personal library of author Wallace Stegner. Laid-in is an article about Porter cut from the magazine Southwest Review, summer 1956, with a penned notation at the top. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 285 pp; Signed by Author .
