About This Item

Philadelphia: Fortress Press, 1979. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Near Fine - very. See scans and description. Philadelphia: Fortress Press, 1979. First Edition. Encounter with the Text: Form and History in the Hebrew Bible, edited by Martin J. Buss. With included ephemera (see below). Octavo, orange-red printed wraps, 231 pp. (vii + 224) . Very Near Fine, with two micro-touches of edge wear and almost indiscernible spine sunning. Otherwise flawless. See scans. Sharp, bright and tight first edition example, with no interior writing, of this collection of scholarly Old Testament expertise. Include is the original sales slip and receipt, in the name of noted topical luminary the late John D.W. Watts of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (see scan of his obituary). These items were found inside this example, and this title (with another) is on the sales slip, hence it was probably his copy, though it is not signed by him. Ships in a new, sturdy, protective box - not a bag. LT26
