Oxford: Printed At The University Press; London: Henry Frowde, Oxford University Press warehouse, Amen Corner, [no date c.1901 ?] . 0. A very good original full vellum binding with coloured decoration to both boards and spine. Emerald 12mo. 14.6cm x 9.2cm x 2.0cm. Vellum yellowed and corners bumped. Front board with initials IHS and art nouveau style floral decoration (lightly rubbed). Spine with similar decoration and title: "Common Prayer" (rubbed). Rear board with a single fleur de lys within a shield, on a red spotted background (rubbed). All page edges gilt. Gold endpapers decorated with many small fleur de lys. Coloured (hand-painted) name to front free-endpaper: "Olive". Printed title page. First leaf of "Morning Prayer" torn with loss and later crudely repaired with sellotape along the border. Otherwise clean text throughout. Bound with: "Hymns Ancient And Modern...London: William Clowes..." N.B.: Date of publication estimated from the state prayers for King Edward, Queen Alexandra and Goerge Prince of Wales. Referenced by D. N. Griffiths: bcp bibliography revised 2007; 1901/6a . .
