Reed (Sydney, Australia), 8 5/8 x 11 1/4 inches tall aqua cloth hardbound in publisher's unclipped dust jacket, map endpapers, filled with black-and-white photographs, 216 pp. Light staining and moderate rubbing and edgewear to the covers, with a half-inch closed tear to the cloth at the top spine cap. Very slight looseness to front board, though the binding is quite solid. Erased notation to upper corner of front free-endpaper, with a light blotch left behind. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean and unmarked - in a chipped torn and edgeworn dust jacket which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. Note that this is a heavy and oversized book, so additional postage will be required for international or priority orders. ~SP44~ This book covers the history of the Royal Australian Air Force, from its earliest days as the Australian Flying Corps to the present RAAF. The authors write bout World War I and the Middle East, Australian squadrons on the Western Front, the RAAF between the wars, its role in World War II in the various theatres of war and its chievements since 1945, including the part it played in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and the state of the RAAF today. This is a detailed account and the pilots, crews and aircraft are referred to by name and serial number.
