April 1979. 'Wenn man nicht tanzt' von Sigmund Schlesinger. Sonnenthal gab den Doktor Meinhold. 24,5 x 19,5 cm. Programmzettel ist - ohne Textverlust - gelocht. Adolf von Sonnenthal (1834-1909) galt als bester Konversationsschauspieler in Salonlustspielen, war aber auch als Helden- und Charakterdarsteller äußerst erfolgreich. Vor seinem Engagement am Wiener Burgtheater (1856) spielte er in Temschburg, Hermannstadt und Königsberg. Unter der Leitung und Förderung von Heinrich Laube stieg Sonnenthal zu einem der bedeutendsten deutschsprachigen Schauspieler seiner Zeit auf. 1881, anlässlich seines 25-jährigen Dienstjubiläums, verlieh man Sonnenthal den Orden der Eisernen Krone und erhob ihn in den Adelsstand. Er wurde 1884 zum Oberregisseur ernannt und fungierte seit dem Abgang des Direktors Adolf von Wilbrandt (Juni 1887) bis Ende 1888 als künstlerischer Leiter der Theaters. Als Darsteller sog. Salonrollen nahm er unbestritten den ersten Platz ein.
